Ramblings of an old Doc
Or, you can wait a bit longer

The new Edge is here, promising more extensions and a far better search engine, based on Chromium, the same engine powering Google's Chrome browser. This makes it more compatible with websites other, less popular browsers have problems with.

This also means that after granting Edge permission, it can use Chrome extensions from the Google Playstore, which has far more than Microsoft's.

Downloading and installing are explained in the linked article, above. You don't have to uninstall the old Edge which is based on MS's engine.

Over the next weeks and months, MS will be pushing the new Edge. You can wait, and it might even be better to do so as just now it probably still has bugs, but if you like being on the bleeding edge, so to speak, go for it!

Ditto.  But it won't.

I'm a Happy Boy! I uninstalled Edge the reinstalled without losing my shortcuts and WB skins it. If anyone want to do it here are the instructions.

Warning:  This restores the original Edge that came with Windows. So if you installed {or upgraded} to the Chrome Edge this will not let you use Chrome Extensions.

So you will have a choice Chrome Extensions or skinned with WB.

Step 1: Backup your Edge Browser favorites.

Step 2: Show Hidden files folders and drives – Right click "Start Button" and Open "File Explorer" now Click “View” Tab in File Explorer and check mark “Hidden items”

Step 3: Navigate to C:\Users\Your username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe then "Delete" the “Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe” Folder

Step 4: Open Powershell by Typing “PowerShell” in Windows search. Now Right Click and Run as Administrator.
Then, Copy and Paste this Command in the PowerShell prompt box:
Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers -Name Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml" -Verbose}

I exported my Favorites just incase but when I started Edge they were still there.

I also uninstalled Edge from Programs and features before doing this.

If you have a problem deleting the Microsoft Edge folder {step 3} open it up and delete the contents, then delete the folder.
