Is IE9 and the Stardock/WinCustomize site fully compatible?

on Mar 15, 2011

But not for XP - I will stick with Firefox.

Just tried to use the quote function (which didn't work for Jafo in earlier versions) and it doesn't work (yet) for me.

Can you install the final version over the RC?

From what I have read - you can install the final version over the RC.

Quote function works with the RC if you use 'Compatibility view' ....

Yes.

"Quote function works with the RC if you use 'Compatibility view' ...."

After choosing "compatibility view" you then have to close and reopen the browser. Choose (also) the "Compatibility settings" and add wincustomize.com to it, or tick the box for comaptibility view for all websites.

so now that IE9 is out of RC and in production, might this issue be addressed from the WC developers now?

(yes I understand that compatibility mode fixes it, but honestly comp. mode is nothing more than a band-aid and not a fix.)

I'll wait till IE 10
on Mar 15, 2011

I just installed it, it updated both the 32 bit version in Progam files(86) and the 64 bit version in Program files. I am not a big IE user but do occasionally use it.

My Primary Browser is FF.

I have tried Opera, Pale Moon and Maxthon did not care for them.

What bothers me most about "Compatibility View" is that is reverts ie9 to an earlier version (where websites were 'compatible'.

So, what's the point of having ie9, unless it's there to wait for everyone else to 'catch up'. So, I agree with Phoon. Now there's a scary thought.

Here's an even scary-er thought .. Im not running in compatibilty view with WC, but this damn quote button shows up and works if I hover over the bottom of a post..

and im running the new release of IE9

I had issues with the RC version of IE9 and stardock products... had to roll back IE9 to IE8 at that time.

on Mar 15, 2011

IE9 cannot display webpage. Stardock services are blocked when I logged in.

I just download IE 9 and giving it a try now.
