I just download IE 9 and giving it a try now.

Well the quote function seems to work.

Quoting DrJBHL, reply 11What bothers me most about "Compatibility View" is that is reverts ie9 to an earlier version (where websites were 'compatible'.

So, what's the point of having ie9, unless it's there to wait for everyone else to 'catch up'. So, I agree with Phoon. Now there's a scary thought.

Here's an even scary-er thought .. Im not running in compatibilty view with WC, but this damn quote button shows up and works if I hover over the bottom of a post..

and im running the new release of IE9

DAMN! I took it off compatibility, restarted it and now it's doing it for me too!

This can't be good.

So what about it not being able to display the web page?

So what about it not being able to display the web page?

Im running the IE9 Final and all stardock wincustomize websites and impulse app seem to be runing just fine, the quote function works(see above) and no compatibility mode needed or used.

cheers all

Note: i did uninstall, ie9 rc (add/remove programs, show install updates) and reboot to return to ie8 final and then installed ie9 final code.

Does IE9 have the favorites bar? If not, I'm not interested.

Yes, IE9 has the file menu, favorites bar and they are accessed by right clicking on the black space below the address ba rat the top of the browser window and can be checked/unchecked by simple mouseclick action. Other functions are accesed through the Gear Icon in top right of the browser window.

Cheers

IE sucks period. I will stick to chrome and FF.

I'm not crazy about how it looks. I don't like the address bar and tabs on the same bar, so I changed that.

I do not like the back and forward buttons, I like them the same size.

Toolbar is still blue. YUK!!

I have not looked into what parts of this are skinable yet, but I think I'll stick with Firefox.

I'm sticking to FF too. IE9 should have opened the web page right away instead it says not. I'm not going to waste my time with it.
