Ramblings of an old Doc
Leaked video from Gizchina
Published on May 1, 2023 By DrJBHL In Personal Computing

This surfaced this morning...from Gizchina:

If true, W12 will be stunning...so many new features. The taskbar, Start menu, explorer...all revolutionary.

The dynamic dark mode looks gorgeous.

To be clear, MS hasn't confirmed anything, and this is a concept video, but:

"The highly reputable concept creator, Addy Visuals has come up with something new that shows how Windows 12 will look like, and it’s stunning. This same concept creator has a long standing history of bringing his imaginations to life. He did something similar for the Windows XP 2022 edition and Windows 7 2022 edition.

Some of the main highlights of his creation include a refreshed Dynamic Taskbar and the new Start Menu. The new Taskbar is now dynamic and can give you important information at a glance." - Gizchina

Take a look at Addy Visuals linked in the quote, and the predictions re W10, etc.

Thoughts?

I'm really concerned that with what I saw in the video, the skins we all love may not be applicable by WB.

The video may or may not be accurate, but if it is (as were his others), the future may be bleak. It depends, I suppose, on how much is hard coded, and if SKS can be redone to skin it.

It's interesting, but Windows has been highly customizable for a long time, so I don't see the point of doing a UI refresh and calling it a new version 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

From what I see in the video, Victechnical, it appears to be a good deal more than a UI refresh. Look at the taskbar, the Fenceoid grouping on the desktop, the dock...seriously, it's a big change.

As for customization? The task bar, start menu, etc. may well not be skinnable at all.
