AI assisted Smart Snap Productivity Booster
Published on April 18, 2023 By DrJBHL In Artificial Intelligence

Windows latest reported on a possible first AI feature addition to Windows 11 in the article linked above. Smart snap already exists which appears on mousing over the maximize button after enabling Smart snap in System>Settings>Multitasking>Snap Windows.

The addition of AI will add the ability of the system to learn preferred window size per app, apparently, and in a layout you choose which can be reapplied in a single click. The Windows Latest article has a gif illustrating this. This, if and when it appears could be a significant productivity booster, since layouts have to be reconfigured after closing apps or restarting the computer.

Interesting. Thanks for posting.

That sounds less like AI and more like just storing your most frequently chosen options.

Marketing strikes again!

Fair enough criticism, but it's a beginning. Adding ChatGPT to Bing and this to W11 is a good indication of MS's intent to use/increase AI's role in its software. MS365 might be the next recipient of AI, but that's just speculation on my part. *edit: Just opened windowslatest.com, and I tripped on this:

Hi, gypsy2299. As for what MS adds to its OSs (W10 and W11), you won't be able to hold them responsible for much of anything. Their lawyers have seen to and will see to that. Not sure how AI assisted programs could hurt you.

I assume you're talking about GalCiv IV and the post Brad made about AI in it. Can't see how that would hurt you either. The AI used i the game is for generation of art.

Was not the AI I was worried about but if the IP holders could cause me grief. Was also confused by the legal mumbo jumbo. Thanks for looking at it.
