Ramblings of an old Doc
A fair who's who in this brave new world.

I don't have to go to any great lengths for folks who have been watching the news and watching just some of the large effects of the hacking and hacktivism...

"Snowden" (the movie) has just come out (my opinion is "not really objective")... But this article deals with the who's who of the groups engaging in this un-organised and organised crime, spying, etc.

Worth the read, imo. The links are worth looking at, as well.

Thanks, pleasant read.

Perhaps the most important statement is buried way down at the bottom:

"However, most breaches start in the same way, says Kaspersky's Emm: "What they have in common is how they get their initial foothold through tricking individuals into doing something that jeopardises security: click on a link, open an attachment, give out some confidential information." It's vital to educate staff and close obvious holes: through to 2020, 99 percent of vulnerabilities exploited will continue to be ones known by security and IT professionals for at least one year, according to Gartner."

A little skepticism pays off, literally.
