Not sure it's worth it.

Ghacks published a notification regarding the new, updated Revo Uninstaller version - both the free and 'paid' versions.

I'm looking at the free edition, and to be honest it isn't offering a whole lot. The linked page should show you the comparison of the two versions, but it really doesn't go into any detail. The paid version is an excellent program which even creates a restore point for instabilities caused by 'aggressive' cleaning of remnants. The newest thing is that it's now a 64 Bit program. You can read a good review of the paid version here: http://www.ghacks.net/2011/12/10/revo-uninstaller-pro-review-giveaway/.

What's more interesting is comparing it to Geek Uninstaller, Iobit Uninstaller, Ashampoo Uninstaller, CCleaner, Bulk Crap Uninstaller, and Total Uninstall.

That wasn't the aim of the article. If you want a comparison that is pretty fair and good, look here:

http://pcsupport.about.com/od/software-tools/tp/free-uninstaller-software.htm

and not just because it agrees a good deal with what I've seen. Comodo Programs Manager was a great piece of software, BUT it hasn't been developed since 2011. I'm not all that happy with Revo...even though it creates that restore point. I can do that, myself.

I like? Iobit Uninstaller....even if you use another cleaner or Windows' native uninstaller, it'll pipe up with a notification like "You missed some stuff. Want me to get it for you?". That's a good thing. Also, it has right click menu integration so you can run the uninstall from inside a Fence. It can create a restore point before the uninstall, and it has a file shredder, too. For a more complete review, see here: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/uninstaller-software/fl/iobit-uninstaller-review.htm

IObit is set by default to install another piece of software made by the same developer (Advanced SystemCare). So, unless you want to try it, deselect the option to make a clean installation.

So...I recommend Iobit Uninstaller. But if you like a different one for some reason, please pipe up!

Personally,I only recommend CCleaner and Total Uninstall, yet the latter is for hardcore users who prefer to take no prisoners.

I use ASC's uninstaller because it just plain works.

I like? Iobit Uninstaller....

Ditto.

I vowed to avoid all things IObit after disastrous issues with their software several years ago, but sounds like the uninstaller might be worth a look since my free Revo version is getting rather long in the tooth.

I've been using their stuff for several years now without dramas....and on all the machines...only thing I steer clear of is the 'Registry Defrag' option.

It caused issues....once....so never again...

Been using Revo Uninstaller for a long time and am very happy with it.
