Ramblings of an old Doc

It will reach the public in the next week or so. It has been “signed” by MS so that means it has been tested by their public testers for glitches…no sarcasm, please.

This should be the first major change that the average user who isn't signed up to any advance testing program sees to Windows 10. It marks the first in what's planned to be a more frequent series of updates to the system, replacing the idea of having Service Packs, and even new editions of Windows. – infopackets

Skype and Edge are expected to receive improvements/new features as well. Assuming the update is indeed build 10586, the main changes will be improvements to Skype (including a new app for text-based messaging), improvements to the Edge browser, and a few visual tweaks including changes to some of the icons which didn't get a great reception among users. And MS even gave it a name...Threshold 2. Been reading about this for days. Good heads up for the folks running Win 10.

We all have our own opinions. Mine may be 100% off but if it is then it would just be like me.

I believe when you first reported this months ago there is another reason. Now Microsoft doesn't have to say we screwed up so here is a 300 meg service patch or larger. Now they just add their screw up to smaller updates and call each one an improvement. This isn't a knock on win 10 just on MS thinking we are all dumb. Just like their adds all are focused around children. May have been but don't think I have seen one totally related to business like you saw in the past.

What do I know just waiting for WB 10. lol.

Since I dual boot with Windows 7, at least this can only screw up half my system. Thanks for the advance notice, I'll be sure to make a full image backup first.

I am assuming the Skype "improvements" are for the store app, the stand alone/installed version has been getting steady changes/improvements lately that for the most part have been trouble free and in the case of emotes, rather good.

Not that I'm an optimist, at all, but I do see an upside to this.  Hopefully, the more decent patches they put out while Win10 is still free, the better an o/s a person can get for free if he's been holding out.  I'd rather see that than a flood of patches after the free period expires.  That's my sugary-sided thought for the day (or week)

Skype, Edge, visual tweaks.

All non-essentials then. I can wait to upgrade my main gaming rigs to Win10, still.
