So, from tomorrow, Chrome will automatically pause web ads using Adobe Flash. Ads using HTML5 will autoplay. Amazon is no longer accepting Flash based ads.

Last month, Mozilla blocked Flash in default settings.

Well…time has come to move on from Flash.

It's kind of disappointing they were still autoplaying the flash ads while they had already stopped autoplaying flash content. Seems they should have both been taken off autoplay at the same time.

Or was that just my settings, and did "I" set flash to not autoplay on Chrome? Not really sure as it's not my main browser. I do use Chrome expressly for any Flash I still do need/want to see. Besides that, Flash has been banished for a while from all my PCs.

What WILL the folks at FlashBlock do?

Find something else to block, I guess.

Now if they came up with a proggie to block all that is Google, why I'd even pay for that.
