Ramblings of an old Doc

On Neowin, this just popped up…but they’re only for those running W10 Tech Preview.

Versions for Windows Tablets and phones will be coming pretty soon, as well.

“The apps, as you would expect since they are in the 'preview' state, are free with Word weighing in at 87MBs, Excel at 79.8 MBs, and PowerPoint at 77.8 MBs. Also, the apps work on x86/x64 and ARM devices.” – Neowin

These apps are very important to W10 as Android and iOS have touch versions of Office now. It’s really too bad that the phone and tablet versions aren’t available just yet because that’s where the money really is…in the mobility.

I don't have a touch screen on my pc, but am running Windows 10 Tech Preview, so decided to download the beta version of Word.

I'm pretty impressed. It's simple, smooth, and has all of the features of Word that I'm used to using in Office 2010 (I have 2013 but haven't installed it).

I also have a Windows Phone, so am looking forward to testing Windows 10 on that as soon as the tech preview is released. The touch versions of the Office Suite will be making it into the phone OS as well.
