Ramblings of an old Doc

Just to be an “equal opportunity revealer”, Google has published Apple’s security flaws in Yosemite.

Google says it notified Apple back in October 2014 of three flaws (one of which Apple has mitigated) and true to form, published them 90 days later.

So, MS isn’t Google’s only victim. Apple says the other fixes are in beta testing and should be out in a 10.10.2 update “soon”, when it goes into general availability.

Again I ask, what’s the rush to publish this stuff which when combined with other bad code would allow remote code execution?

I think Google, Apple and MS have to come to a better arrangement. People don’t have to suffer for whatever reason Google feels it MUST publish this kind of stuff after 90 days.

I guess they figure 90 days is enough time to make the fixes and by publishing them they might work faster.
