Excellent!
Internet Archive gets sued in....
....and DosBox gets rediscovered by millions...
Apple sues MS over who has the right to sue for MS DOS games.
Internet Archive is down for the count, looks like there are way too many old farts on the internet.
And so it should! After all, didn't Apple invent MS DOS games!
Someone has to keep the young whipper snappers in line...
But, we need some criteria for "old fart" status.
Here's one. You're old if you've ever played this game.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pong
Yes, played pong on a TV addon [before the advent of PCs....and monitors...and stuff] ...very hi-tech it was, too....
For Dos stuff...the greatest was Terra Nova .... still have that on Dosbox somewhere...
These games work great in the browser based DOSBox emulator. 25 years ago I played all the old Sierra adventure games and was ecstatic to test this site out. Primary issue is one can't save the games - at least I couldn't do it. That pretty much limits one to the shootem up or card games.
Yeap, us old farts played a lot of those games. Even pong.
Yeap, WE old farts played a lot of those games.... even Dodge the Dinosaur... which could be perilous if one was slow on one's feet.
That was one of Jafo's favourites, as was Chase the Chariot 'Round the Coliseum... not that I fancied that one myself. Ben Hur kept cheating.
I keep a ms-dos vmware workstation guest around for just such an emergency. works like a champ!
