De-Vasive (abbreviated DV here) was invented for Android users and does something good: It let’s you know when apps start using certain camera features.
- When an app starts the phone's camera.
- When the microphone is activated.
- When Bluetooth or WiFi are activated.
- Detect which apps track your location.
That’s a pretty good thing. The free app won’t let you block the app activating a process or warning, but it will let you know it’s been activated. Fair enough. If you’re not convinced you need DV after scanning your system and using it a few days, no harm done and you get rid of it. If on the other hand you decide it’s worth the $4.99 for the app, take the plunge. If you decide to keep DV as a scanner (not a bad choice), you’ll need an additional app of the type (free) listed here: http://www.ilovefreesoftware.com/09/featured/5-best-free-android-pattern-lock-apps.html .
I suggest (as always) you do your own research on the topic.
There’s a free and a paid version. The free version tells you about the apps doing this and they’re categorized according to threat level. Another tap will reveal a full list of permissions about what the app is allowed to do. They can be stopped or uninstalled from there as well. The app can run a security scan too. Again, it produces a list with threat levels, and the choices to stop or uninstall appear as well.
