Neat! On my iPad I use Dragonspeak. Now I’ve got something for my PC. Granted, there is a native Windows utility, but it won’t do what even the free version of this software will. If your PC doesn’t have an embedded mike, you’ll have to get one.
It has some nice features. You can send the messages by email, post them to face book, even attach pictures, eCards and screenshots to the voice recordings…which is pretty nice. I’m posting a comparison of the free and paid versions, but only writing about the ‘free’ features.
Perhaps coolest is the ‘Transcribe’ feature which transcribes from voice to text and is fairly accurate. It isn’t ‘teachable’ as Dragonspeak is. You can save the transcriptions and reuse them…also pretty nice if you record voice notes and memos throughout your workday.
‘View and Record’ allows one to attach a voice message to a photo…a really nice personal touch, imo. If you want, you could even create audio shows and add your own audio (sort of a mini studio). It’ll give you choices regarding the encoding and even supports noise reduction and Automatic Gain Control.
If you’re on a trip or like diaries, there’s a ‘Voice Diary’, which let’s you record impressions during a day and transcribe them per date, title, text, images etc…. You can even export as eBook. That’s pretty sweet.
Anyway, it’s here: http://www.speak-a-message.com/en/download.html
