Ramblings of an old Doc

MS has released IE 10 – probably in the hope that it will win back folks who’ve migrated to Firefox and Chrome. Wanna bet?

Currently Firefox holds 20% and Chrome holds 17% of the browser market while IE (all editions) holds about 55%.

Since IE10 was tied to W8, it’s exposure has been limited (apart from the “preview”). Since W8 is only at 2.3%, MS is releasing IE 10 to try and compete independently from W8.

And watch out for the little check box “I would like Bing and MSN defaults”. You’ll have to uncheck that on the download page if you don’t want them.

People still use IE? Good way to mess up a good running system.

Interesting. No edit button.

By the way OP Wikipedia says Chrome has a bigger market share than IE.

Right. IE10 messes up W7 and W8. IE 10 is a speed demon, and messed up nothing.

I could care less what whoever wrote the Wikipedia article says. I base my statements on reliable sources regarding market share.

No thanks. IE isn't used but maybe once in a blue moon to access the net. I use Firefox. Why? Extensions. Customizable add-ons. Bookmarks are handled better.Rest of the house uses Chrome.

I haven't seen the edit button since they did a forum upgrade a few days ago. The quote button is missing as well.

And yet it's all working here exactly as it's supposed to....

....in IE9 ...

There's an article about IE 10 on yahoo news. I scrolled down to the comments and you wouldn't believe the remarks I've seen. Most weren't willing to go for it. According to the article MS wants IE 10 as an upgrade for all those Win 7 computers, 730 million of them, they say its fast but could they at least make it look good and skinnable.

My Gosh this site is so screwed up right now...

... oh and.. IE 10?  hahaha..

on Feb 26, 2013

OK I can see the edit, quote, and other buttons while using IE9. Been awhile since I have used IE. In Firefox the buttons disappear. Even with Adblock disabled the buttons still do not appear.

Here's one for the books. I'm at the download page for IE 10 and on the bottom it says Internet Explorer download so I click on it. All of a sudden its taking me to beautyoftheweb.com not....to the actual download page. Microstuff really does need to get its act together IMO.

I'm having no problems with the buttons displaying here in the forums, all is well. And as an added bonus, the browser speed is very impressive !       -- Ace --
