Well… it won’t be a 1:1, but if you bought a Surface RT, MS stores will be giving trade in credit for it towards a Surface Pro. The stores aren’t offering any details of the deal over the phone (per Neowin). Your RT had best be in tip top shape though, if you want top dollar.
I wonder if this is part of a business plan to market the RT abroad: Refurbished RT’s will cost less than the original, and there are places where that would be a distinct advantage. While MS will be shrinking the RT user base this way, it probably figures they’ve more to profit from Surface Pro sales and software more engineered for its power than the Surface RT.
If you’re interested in a Surface Pro, demo units have seen spotted in Microsoft Stores, so a call ahead to one might be profitable to everyone concerned.
