Ramblings of an old Doc

Although Instagram initially caused a wave of panic re their TOS change and subsequently backtracked, it’s going to cost them. Their new TOS isn’t going to appear for a month.

There are alternatives to Instagram. Make sure to verify their TOS’s (as Dr. McCoy would say, “Dammit, Jim…”).

Here’s a link to PCMag which should be able to get you started.

Zubaz has kindly also provided a link to Socialsafe which is free for 60 days (so you don’t have to wait for the new Instagram TOS and then panic) and gives you the opportunity to back those pics up and delete them and your Instagram account (if you decide to do that).

If you do decide to delete, read how to do it correctly at http://instagram.com/ because you might have to do the deleting, etc. in a certain order to be sure everything is gone.

So, you can read about those ten alternatives here:

Instagram just committed corporate suicide.

always keep in mind that you have to grant those services some rights. else the whole concept would not work.

for example the right to publish your work. if it does not get published you would not be able to see it on the internet.

or the right to alter your work. theoretically you could sue Wincustomize for copyright infringement for creating thumbnails of your wallpaper. that wont get you far if the judge has half a brain though.

Dr Guy
Instagram just committed corporate suicide.

not really. how many people do you think read the news about that? and how many care?

the beef they have with Twitter currently will have a much higher impact.
