JavaRa 2.0 is a tiny, excellent app to help you manage your Java, troubleshoot it or just have a more comfortable way to update it. It’s also good if you need to remove Java but can’t use the official Oracle Java Uninstaller.
After installing, you can move a shortcut to a bin, Fence or dock so it’s readily available.
It’s made by SingularLabs who are the same folks who gave us System Ninja and CCEnhancer (which expands the definitions of CCleaner). It does require .NET to be installed to work. If you don’t have .NET installed, use the legacy version (1.1.6), which is also on the SingularLabs website.
So this is what it looks like:
Features:
Quickly update JRE Cleans logs and temporary files created by JRE Perform a clean uninstall of JRE Update has the option in it to use Oracle’s jucheck.exe tool to look for and install updates version check and install the latest JRE right away without version check.
Remove JRE gives the option to remove any version of Java you have installed on your system. You should probably use Java’s own uninstall tool to do this first… but that might just be a ‘proforma disclaimer’. That tool is available on the Java download page.
Update JavaRa Definitions (self explanatory) should be done every time you open the app and before doing anything else…but you can set it to update silently, once a week.
Additional Tasks lets you remove startup entries, check your Java version directly and remove outdated JRE’s from the browser.
