Ramblings of an old Doc

If you’d like a chance to win, head over to ghacks.net .

It’s an excellent piece of software which you can configure to run automatically or just on demand.

It has lots of tools (more than 20) and features. For a good, in depth review head on over.

You can configure the Antivirus component as a first line of defense or in ‘compatibility’ mode and it will update to latest definitions during installation. If you already have an antiviral you’re happy with, you don’t have to install it.

So… don’t delay (especially if you need it).

*edit - You do have to make a comment to enter the drawing.

Also, please take a read here, and check up before July 9th… You need your Interwebs!

Interesting product Doc, and I have installed it and going through its features now, but I don't see where this is free, it says it is a free trial.  Am I missing something?

Oh never mind, it's a chance to win only if you post a comment at the site.  Was way down at the bottom of the page so I did not see it.

Don't suppose you know how long the free trial is good for do you?

I tried the beta of this and it was okay, just didn't want to pay, cheap bastard that I am.

I went back to using the free version of Advanced System Care Version 5.3 along with using MSE.

Trial - probably 30 days... doesn't say anywhere on iobit's website (http://www.iobit.com/advanced-systemcare-antivirus.html) - sorry, Tom.

You mean, you didn't install it and try it?

on Jul 06, 2012

FYI, if you all ready have the previous version installed, you can go here: http://www.iobit.com/ascav-register.php?cd=6

and update to the 2013 version for $12.99 (the normal price is 49.99) that includes three licenses.

Do YOU have it installed?

I believe Frankie was just telling folks about an offer out there on the net.

And no, I didn't see any reason to install it as I use BitDefender.

This post was only about a chance to win a year's license for free.

If you have a problem with that, you aren't obliged to enter.

I didn't tell anyone to "try this". That was a shop I didn't leave up... you just caught it before the edit.

No I didn't install it.

Again: THIS POST IS ABOUT AN OFFER.

I have a different piece of security software: BitDefender - and what's your problem?

*edit: This is apparently a game Po'Smedley has decided to play on this thread. While I could simply remove all those comments, I won't.

So BitDefender must be UBER-Excellent?

It reads like an ad and all that is missing is Billy Mays.

Yes, Po, as a matter of fact I do have it installed and highly recommend it. I wouldn't know about the offer if it weren't installed. Been using it for years. It won't make any changes to your system unless you want it to.  Why the "sour grapes"? The negativity here is really getting hard to deal with.

BitDefender was rated #1 this or last year.

ASC was reviewed extensively on the source site:

For a good, in depth review head on over.

and I suggested the review be read. The OP isn't an ad nor is it meant to be. It was written for two purposes:

1. To aquaint people who might want security software with a free offer for excellent software (I take it you have it installed but don't think so?).

2. To remind people about the 7/9 deadline regarding net access for those who might have the DNS Switcher virus on their systems and who need to scan for it.

I really didn't expect this from you, and it hurts.

I can't see what the problem is.  DrJBHL said there was a competition for a free copy, and people are jumping down his throat?  Does it (and he) really deserve that?  Really?  Telling us about a competition for a free copy is way different from advertising it, and you don't have to be using a program to tell about a competition for a free copy of it for other people.
