Ramblings of an old Doc

Well, sorry to bring this news. If you have a Visa or Mastercard, you’d better check if your name appears on the “S-List”.

Interestingly, This “Jeremy” or “Reckz0r” claims to have hacked 79 banking companies and obtained 50 Gb of data, and published some  as proof (on Pastebin). He received tweets that this is stuff that appeared on that site 2 weeks before… which doesn’t mean more than “Hacking still has occurred, you didn’t do it.”, which is not logically correct.

All that said, please do the following:

  • Monitor your credit bill.
  • Call your bank/credit card company and check recent activity.
  • If there’s any suspect activity, change the card immediately. Especially if your name appears in the text file (follow notifications on the net).

Sorry to bring this bad news, but I do care about your security. Better to know… and I hope you aren’t on the “S-List”.

I removed the actual download link.

You know, if I wanted the money I sure wouldn't be telling the whole world that I stole it. I'd just quietly keep copying info and using it. Then none of us would know unless we keep track of our accounts. They say who they are often enough it seems that the odds of finding them would increase. Then how would they use their money? (probably working for the Feds) I wonder if this makes an impression on the National Debt.
