Need a Word Processor? Five Free Ones Compared on TWC.

I didn’t do the comparison, and the one that was done on The Windows Club isn’t at all wordy, but the chart rocks.

A lot of work went into that, and I thought it was really good enough to bring to you to see (if you need a word processor).

Also, three of them are full office suites. I use OpenOffice, but am trying LibreOffice because of the number of devs actively working on the (open source) code. I looked for the source on that, but couldn’t find it. I think it was Neowin.net.

Anyway, take a look…

Good find Doc. Also, I've been curious about LibreOffice as well. How does it fare compared to Open Office?

It's basically the same so far. It is still quite new. It also inherited OOs crappy .doc read-ins, so always be ready for formatting errors when you load those.

Very similar.... OpenOffice 'spawned' LibreOffice after Oracle didn't wish to continue OpenOffice. Then they changed their minds (if I'm remembering correctly)

I use Libre Office. Started to when I read that some of the devs wanted to go it alone to keep it open source. Libre Office was the name they chose. They kept all of the original functionality of Open Office. Nearly a clone. And it works great.
