Many times I see forum posts about problems caused by Windows 7, or other software being blamed on Stardock software.
I also see yrag being called on for help. He’s a great Community resource, but obviously can’t always be expected to be there or (please don’t kill me, yrag) necessarily solve those problems.
As with any super complex piece of software, things can go wrong (or be made to go wrong). Also, Windows has a wide selection of tools to help figure out what’s wrong and how to fix it.
One great source is Windows Seven Forums. Another appears in the article by Mike Halsey, here:
http://www.ghacks.net/2011/12/31/diagnosing-and-repairing-difficult-problems-in-windows-7-free-webcast/?_m=3n%2e0038%2e386%2ehj0ao01hy5%2ee2u
Mike Halsey is the author of “Troubleshooting Windows 7 Inside Out” and is an MS MVP and an editor on technical websites (gHacks.net among them). He also has giveaways on his facebook site. Apart from that, he helps long term unemployed people get English, math and ICT skills to obtain qualifications. That qualifies him as a human MVP in my book.
Anyway, the webcast is free and its scheduling is in the article:
“The webcast is completely free, live and starts at 10AM PT January 12th - San Francisco | 6pm – London | 1pm – New York | Fri, Jan 13th at 5am – Sydney | Fri, Jan 13th at 3am – Tokyo | Fri, Jan 13th at 2am – Beijing | 11:30pm – Mumbai”
In this webcast, the skills and tools to fix the problems will be covered.
Also:
“If you’re not able to make the webcast when it’s broadcast live, just register in advance and you’ll be given free access to watch it afterwards online through the O’Reilly website. It will last for approximately 60 minutes and is part of a series of regular webcasts that, from February, will return to their regular first Thursday slot.”
