"Let's first define as "Must Haves" for who.  Techies?  Gamers?  Network Admins?  General PC use?"

Yes, Let's [and it's "whom"]..... since a person can be all of those at the same time.

Kinda negates any need for a 'definition'.

I must add that one that's NOT a 'must have' [yet] is IE9 ..... can't even handle quoting....and you should see what it does when you hit the back button in Google....

Have to figure out with whom to discuss the 'embedding' code for vids. Hankers came up with a solution, but maybe there's a way to make the embed more flexible?

Using Safari at the moment trying to embed stuff, but it's a no go.

Yes, Let's [and it's "whom"]..... since a person can be all of those at the same time.

Of all the awful attacks on grammar that exists in a forum, I get called out on the usage of "whom".

And I respectfully disagree that context does matter in regards to presenting a list of utilities

=P

Gotta start with the little ones....

You know....save the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves....

Actually...was more interested in correcting the presumption that being one or the other [type of user] was somehow mutually exclusive....

Hello all,

Thanks for the great utilities.

Does anyone know of a fast and comprehensive substitute/alternative for Windows 7-64bit Indexing? I don't like how indexing excludes parts of the hard drive and the sluggish rebuilding of fequently accseced directories.

Wonderful search engine, always finds whatever I throw at it, free and safe!

Doc, this should be a periodic article!  While the PC Mag list is a bit long in the tooth (several are many revisions past the article's listing), the best part about it is what others bring to the table!  I have just added some great utilities to my tool chest.

for my own contribution, while I think the Meraki Wifi Stumbler is neat (especially not having to load anything), my favorite Wifi sniffer is InSSIDer

Given the lateness of my post, I will wait to see if any others post some of my other favorites, although most have been posted by others.

Good suggestion, Dr Guy. For the most part lots of constructive ideas, which is the goal.

Defraggler is a disk defragmenter by the ccleaner people.  Can't say if it's the best or not, but it's a major improvement over Windows defrag and supports all versions of Windows.

It's one that many folks like, lbgsloan. It's a good suggestion. Thanks. Smart Defrag is another good one.
