Microsoft Safety Brochure in a variety of formats

Protecting your data and information has been the focus of several of my articles. I’ve recommended software, and various steps to take to do so.

Microsoft has provided a really nice and easy to understand brochure with many links in it. It’s all of two ‘pages’ and steers clear of ‘jargon’. It's a really wothwhile read.

Along with this quicky, PC Magazine (a really good site) has a good article explaining how to define your needs and find a router which will fill them:

The PC Magazine link does not seem to be working.

And I agree with your assessment of PC Mag - it is my magazine of choice! (Mostly due to the way the articles are written - easy to read and not too simplistic).

Much Better! Thanks

I just bought a Belkin (which was not reviewed in the article, but I have always had good luck with them) N Band.  You really need the N if you are looking 3 years or more into the future.  Most built-in WiFi cards are not going to be N now, but they will in a short time (I am sure most ill be backwards compatible with B & G, but then you have to have N for the bandwidth).

I did notice they were quoting prices high.  I guess the article was just giving MSRP as I have never paid that much for any of them.
