Ramblings of an old Doc
Happy Thanksgiving for those who survived Halloween!
Published on October 31, 2024 By DrJBHL In WinCustomize Talk

November...no politics, just fun. Halloween just ended, and you have a few weeks to recuperate and be productive before being turkeyed, pumpkin pied, green bean casseroled and footballed into a euphoric coma among family members...after giving thanks for all the freedoms we generally take for granted, and for which generations of Americans (in and out of uniform), and our allies gave their all...so please remember to thank them in word and deed for their priceless gift to us, one and all. Thank you!

Back to frivolity...not all turkeys are delish, as farmer Jones finds out (to his dismay)...WB: Aero 11 (Clear) by SimplexDesigns, docks: Windows 7 Xtreme by Winstep Technologies and wall Happy Thanksgiving by yours truly to you all and your loved ones!

It's a simple setup

True, but it's harmonious and attractive. Me likes!

Playroom Starlight by Vampothika is my current theme. Here's a screenie I made for it:

Vampothika and Don5318 are incredibly talented skin artists! It is a shame neither of them are currently doing skins.

I'm using a Firefox addon called Search by Image, that I find rather good. It comes with a whole slew of search engines to find or compare similar images and where those images can be found and d/l'd. And one of those search engines is Tineye.

Not so sure about that extension. Did you notice the automatic permissions?

Lazy? Nah. If I weren't a Gallery Mod, I'd never have heard of Tineye...which beats the pants off Google Image search, btw.

I tried Tineye with a search for Frogboy and got 0 matches,

Then using Google image search I got at least 25 images. I like this one.

I wonder if Tineye searches a very specific image
Correct. Tineye searches and tries to find the original image and other variations on the that particular image.

At any rate, my searches are very specific for any duplicates of submissions and originality of authorship, to find previous submissions to other wallpaper sites.

Good point. I'll bookmark Tineye for future use.

I didn't notice that. It does look kind of suspicious. I should probably delete this extension, to be on the safe side but I have been using it for months and as far as I know, haven't encountered any threatening behavior with my browser. Thank for pointing this out to me, Tom. Appreciate it.

No, I didn't notice it. But as I pointed out to Lightstar, I've been using this extension for months and haven't found anything troubling with my browser. And this extension gets very high ratings from the community. Now I'm worried that it's been doing something untoward in the background.

No, I didn't notice it. But as I pointed out to Lightstar,

I'm Doc, not Tom, Reaper.
