Ramblings of an old Doc

Snip is MS’s newest Garage Project special…it’s like the snipping tool in W7 and 8/8.1/10.

This one ships with an editor, though…big drawback: You can only edit with voice or with the pen. No way to type or make the presentation appear professional.

So…you select your screen shot using the dock which is movable to any part of the screen. It gives you the possibilities to select the area to capture limited to square or rectangular…no freehand. It also gives a whiteboard, a camera (to save your work) as well as the “Library” which is where it saves all your work also (besides “My Snips”). The App also allows you to give a voice annotation.

The App gives you the option to share your work via email.

Granted, it’s a Beta…but at this point, it’s at best a very simple ‘snipping’ program…and really lacks all the pluses Snagit, or Snap have…and if it’s a good one you want, I’d try one of the ones listed here.

You can read more here.

Noted, tried…uninstalled. Sure glad for CCleaner.

There are many free apps.

One that looks a heck of a lot better than "Snip Edit" is Tiny Take (Mango Software). Has voice recording, annotation, etc.

You can see it here: http://tinytake.com/

I like my print screen better or I can use the snipping tool. No need for all that fancy stuff.
