Ramblings of an old Doc

Robin Williams…the funniest comedian and fine actor is gone. He died this morning.

Lately he’d gone into rehab to help him deal with Depression.

I’m sure we all have great memories of him in his routines, in Mork and Mindy…Mrs. Doubtfire, Good Will Hunting…

I’ll never forget what he did for Christopher Reeves and his family.

Anyway, a true great is gone. I’m having a really hard time wrapping my head around this one.

Rest in Peace, Robin. Thank you for the insane laughter and incredible insights…you great person, you.

Loved him in everything he did, especially Fisher King.  There's too much sadness in comedy, it seems.

Too young.

While I liked the guy and grieve with the rest of you, I really didn't like him in much of what he did.   Mrs. Doubtfire and Good Will Hunting being  the few exceptions.   Flubber and the like were just crap imo.

Life is generally short and eventful for the brightest of candles, always shinning but burning out so quickly.

I watch his movies anytime they are on. Can never see enough of them. Will miss this man for sure.

The Fisher King was genius.  He was a scream in Bird Cage.  He could do serious roles very well, too.

I ran into him at the Troubadour on Sunset back around '79.  We were upstairs in the balcony and he was practically hanging over the railing and trippin balls.  No doubt about it. So I went up to him and started high siding, but made sure not to spook him.  I got an intense contact high off him.  Great energy.  Dude was way outside in all directions, and straight ahead at the same time.  Pioneered a new form of expressionist comedic improv - in a class by himself.

Loved him.

I'm shocked and saddened.

I can't come to terms with it. Watching the news then up comes breaking news. It was like watching and feeling a piece of your childhood get ripped out. It's like, how can this be…

I actually got a bit broken up about it. My wife called me from work just as I had seen this announced on CNN. She knew I was breaking up.

I used to laugh at people falling apart when Elvis died, or when Princess Di died.

Robin Williams was a favorite of mine. I will miss him sorely and I am truly saddened by his passing.

RIP Robin. You were the best.
