If you have W8, might be interesting.
Just my opinion, but complaining about repetitive complaints before they happen is self defeating. You're just inviting people to do exactly that.
As long as someones talking, more people will want to talk. You might have a point but it's not going to help your cause at all.
And yeah, I think there is a good amount of unreasonable hostility out there, but MS probably expected this to some degree. If they had continued on the same path Windows had always been on I think the Android/iOS advance would be far worse long term.
If you could stick with the same thing forever we'd all still be using XP, so I don't think there's anything to really worry about if 8 underperforms. One of its best features (WinRT) is too new to make a significant impact.
And yeah, I want 8 on my Athlon 64 4400+ but I don't use it for anything anymore. But I'm getting my old laptop (Turion X2 Ultra with an HD 3200) back and it's definately getting the upgrade.
The best performing windows has the worst gui. figures.
I was hoping for a few whiny bitching about 8 posts, but bugger it, not many bites at all.
Put out the invite and everybody stayed away in droves.
Seriously, I'm happy with Win 8 and I don't much care what anyone says about it.
Not to worry, Windowblinds will be released soon... so with Start8, Decor8 and ModernMix, you can have the best of both worlds.
So lets see, that first part of the above pretty much sounds like the defination of Trolling, oh my.
Yup, when the forums are pretty near dead, one resorts to desperate measures in the hope of injecting some life.
I mean, it has been that quiet recently one would try anything to liven the joint up.... short of posting pics of naked ladies.
My personal opinion about the forums being quiet has to do pretty much with the changing of the attitudes of computer users to customize their desktops. Again it's just my opinion and not based upon anything else but the activity in the forums and the WC site in general.
Sure hope I'm wrong.
I don't believe you are.
I used to be pro customization but it made plenty of apps more unstable so I said the hell with it.
I hope those third party GUI completely integrate with the os and not cause slow downs and bugs.
Have those makers tried to get Microsoft to agree to be partners where as a user is free to choose which gui they can use in the control panel or personalization window. E.g the premium version of windows blue etc should come pre-installed with the software /
That's what Stardock is best know for .... seamless Windows GUI integration...
I hope they only make one version of windows blue for consumers and a server version for enterprises.
"They can use payable addon feature packs if they want to lower its price:
