Ramblings of an old Doc

No… not the future prediction. The hand’s motions controlling the computer.

It’s here. It’s on pre-order. It’s so cool.

So what is “The Leap”? According to its developer:

“The Leap is a small iPod sized USB peripheral that creates a 3D interaction space of 8 cubic feet to precisely interact with and control software on your laptop or desktop computer.”

You can read more about it here: http://live.leapmotion.com/about.html

It’s so expensive, though. $69.99 (why do they do that: Is anyone fooled?).

The vid pretty much says it all. The size?

The chopsticks bit is what I find most interesting. I'm very curious how well it works in real life.

Do chopsticks EVER work in 'reaL Life'?....

I pre-ordered one. Never have pre-ordered anything before, but I gave it a try.

I am very proficient with chopsticks in real life, thank you very much.  There's a traditional ramen noodle joint around here that is absolutely fantastic.  Man, now I'm hungry...

Oh man, anything traditional and oriental is nearly 300 miles from me (the Republic in Portland is one) When I was younger I thought that eating with chopsticks was a great way to diet... Now I can eat with chopsticks and not think about it AND talk about dieting.
