Ramblings of an old Doc

I use this utility to prevent instability and to speed the boot process. At Giveaway of the Day, for the next 15+ hours it’s yours for free. Read the Readme.txt . You’ll have to enter the serial number to complete the registration. This is one you can update, also. Save the key number, because it’ll ask for it when you wish to update.

“Process Lasso is NOT yet another task manager; it is a process optimization and automation utility. One of Process Lasso’s most popular features is a unique technology called ProBalance (Process Balance) that will improve your PC’s responsiveness and stability.

Windows, by design, allows programs to monopolize your CPU without sufficient restraint – leading to hangs and micro-lags. ProBalance intelligently adjusts the priorities of running programs on-demand so that badly behaved processes won’t negatively impact the responsiveness of your PC. It does this not by raising process priorities, but instead by temporarily lowering the priorities of background processes that may be interfering with foreground responsiveness. In addition to ProBalance, there are countless features allowing the user to take full automated control of the processes on their PC. You can have a wide range operations performed, or settings applied, each time a process is run.” – bitsum

Tell you. This thing works great. Boot up is much smoother. Smx used to come up gradually. Now it pops up in turn. what I like is that you can tell when each app is busy. Rainmeter OD and smx all take turns connecting to the web. Nice!

It updated but didn't ask for any key. It just did the install and that's it.

It did eventually ask me for a key, but before it did (I installed it on 3 computers), I went to Help/Activate.  Guess it is too late now.

Encountered a problem with this one. On start up OD froze and my taskbar did not show up. If I click on the desktop or on OD explorer crashes. Thought it was the Java up date so I uninstalled it. Same problem. Ran chkdk, no change. Checked out my entire system with diagnostics, ran CCleaner, Glary Utilities and no change. The only thing I could think of was Process Lasso but just to be sure I did a system restore to 4 days ago before Process Lasso was installed. No other progam or update was installed during that time only Process Lasso. Restore was successful and now I got my taskbar back and OD is not feezing up. So much for that one. Sorry Doc...it was a good shot anyway.

Uvah this is exactly why I don't install stuff like that willy nilly. I have been through that type of thing before myself with apps like that. Even if it's free it ain't worth the trouble.

Go to their website... bitsum.com .... I think there're some freebies there.

Uvah... you could have asked... under options it's completely configurable as to what/when etc.
